The Hanging Church of Coptic Cairo
On this tour you’ll visit the famous Citadel, Islamic and Coptic Cairo, and, depending on time, the Egyptian museum in a private, air-conditioned car. A professional guide is optional and entrance fees are not included.
The Citadel is home to the beautiful alabaster Mohammad Ali Mosque, a museum, and several other, smaller mosques. It offers a great view of old Cairo. Wait for the call to prayer and you will experience the richness of this daily ritual.
Islamic Cairo boasts hundreds of historically important mosques and other Islamic monuments such Ibn Tulin and Sultan Hassan Mosques. Coptic Cairo is the historically important home to the city’s Coptic Christian population. You’ll see the Coptic Museum and the Hanging Church, among other interesting sights. Cairo’s oldest remaining Synagogue is also in this area.
